The initiators of the foundation are film producer Ernard Kurmashev, director Kuanish Beisek, and the company Dasco Capital Ltd., led by Darment Sadvakassov. The fund is registered at the Astana International Financial Center (AIFC).

Fund Concept

Tolqyn Film Fund OEIC Ltd. focuses on diversifying investments, aligning with the practices of the Hollywood film industry. Rather than concentrating on a single project, the fund aims to build a portfolio of several films. This strategy helps minimize financial risks: the success of some projects can offset potential losses from others. The fund targets the production of 15–20 films, with an anticipated investment volume of 5.5 billion tenge.

In addition to collaborating with Kazakhstani film projects, the fund's creators are also exploring participation in international projects. The goal of the fund is to create a competitive product that can enter the global market and attract the attention of foreign audiences.

Key Figures

Kurmashev is a renowned Kazakhstani film producer with over ten successful projects to his credit. Among these films are "Businessmen," "Districts," and "Black, Black Man." His work on the project "Holidays off-line" led to the creation of a popular trilogy.

Beisek is the former chief director of music videos for the group "Irina Kairatovna," and he is featured in Forbes Kazakhstan's "30 Under 30" list, being a favorite among Kazakhstani youth. Beisek's debut film "Dәстүр" grossed 2 billion tenge at the box office, making it the highest-grossing film of 2024.

Sadvakassov, representing Dasco Capital Ltd., has experience in consulting and managing investment funds. His expertise in direct investments and deal facilitation makes him an essential part of the team responsible for the fund's development.
