The longest trans-ocean bridge in the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region (GZAR, Southern China) - the Longmen Bridge - was opened for traffic on Sunday, significantly reducing travel time between the ports of Qinzhou and Fangchenggang from 1.5 hours to just 25 minutes, reports Kazpravda.kz citing Xinhua.
The bridge has been constructed according to the standards for first-class highways, featuring six lanes of traffic in both directions. The designed speed limit on the bridge is 100 km/h.
This bridge serves as a crucial transportation hub in the Beibu Gulf Economic Zone and is expected to contribute to its high-quality development.
Previously, the longest high-speed tunnel in the world was completed in China. According to Xinhua, the construction of the world's longest high-speed tunnel, the Tian Shan Shengli, was finished on Monday in the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region in northwestern China. Its length is 22.13 kilometers.
