During the Japanese cabinet meeting on January 10, the government approved a new sanctions package against Russia. According to Nikkei.com, this involves a ban on exports to Russia and companies from other countries of 335 items, including engine parts for special vehicles such as cranes and motorcycles, as well as goods that "will help strengthen Russia's industrial capabilities." The embargo will also include chemical substances, such as capsaicin, which are associated with the development of chemical weapons.
According to information on the website of the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan, the sanctions will come into effect on January 23. They include the freezing of assets belonging to 11 individuals and 29 organizations in Russia, as well as three banks (CMRBank, RFK Bank, and Timer Bank).
The export ban will affect 22 Russian organizations and 31 organizations from other countries suspected of aiding Russia in evading sanctions. The list includes companies from the UAE, China, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Turkey.
According to information on the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan, the company "Da Group 22," based in Astana, Kazakhstan, is subject to export sanctions. It is listed as number 35 in this document. This company has previously been included in the sanctions lists of the European Union and the United States.
"Da Group 22" was registered on March 14, 2022, with its last re-registration occurring on January 22, 2024. Lilia Nosaeva is listed as the current director, and this information is consistent across several resources.
Regarding its main activity, various contractor search sites indicate different codes from the classifier of economic activities (OKED). One portal lists OKED 46520 - "Wholesale trade in electronic and telecommunications equipment and its parts." However, several resources, including adata.kz and ba.prg.kz, indicate a different code: 46389 - "Wholesale trade in other food products" (noted that changes occurred in early March 2024).
