The State Museum of Arts of the Republic of Kazakhstan named after A. Kasteyev has opened an exhibition of works by Ekaterina Terekhova titled "In Anticipation of Spring." Her paintings combine elements of Impressionism and Realism, creating unique visual effects. Each piece by the young artist invites viewers to immerse themselves in the atmosphere of warmth and sincerity of the surrounding world.
Born in 1997 in Moscow, the future artist lives and works in Almaty. In her works, she aims to convey not only the external appearance but also the inner world of her subjects, their emotions, and thoughts. Her creativity encompasses both traditional genres and more experimental directions, making each exhibition special.
– Ekaterina Terekhova studied easel painting at the Almaty College of Decorative and Applied Arts named after Tansykbaev, as well as at the Moscow Academic Art School, – shares the exhibition curator Bibigul Kusaynova. – Currently, Ekaterina is in her fifth year specializing in "easel painting" at the Russian State Specialized Academy of Arts. Her works have already gained recognition among art enthusiasts, including foreign collectors and diplomats.

Russian art historian Anna Bagrationi was impressed by her acquaintance with Ekaterina's work: “Looking at the childlike purity of the artist's works, with their immediate and holistic perception of the surrounding world, one feels like exclaiming: ‘People, look around you, beauty is right next to you!’”
– Katya has not completely lost her connection to the outside world through verbal communication; she reads lips of well-known people, but it is harder for her with less familiar individuals, – explains the artist's father, Alexey Terekhov. – She has a modern hearing aid that helps her hear, but she uses it very rarely because it causes her significant discomfort. Yet, as is often the case, the human body is designed to compensate for certain deficiencies with a more refined development of other senses. Katya remarkably perceives colors and paints.

According to Alexey Terekhov, even during her studies, his daughter faced challenges with her teachers. Some of Ekaterina's works were so impressive that the then-budding artist was accused of not creating them independently, but with the assistance of an already established artist. These suspicions were later dispelled during exams when the works were created directly in studios under close observation from instructors.

Today, the artist's work features a rich painting style with a pronounced texture of brushstrokes, a bold color palette, and a play of color shades that convey the multifaceted nature of her characters and the depth of natural images. The author finds inspiration in the surrounding world, striving to capture fleeting states of nature and the emotional experiences of people. In her works, one can see both delicate, almost transparent lyrical scenes as well as powerful, dynamic expressive compositions full of movement and passion.
