The South African fan club of Dimash Kudaibergen held a commemorative meeting at the Embassy of Kazakhstan in Pretoria, warmly welcomed by Ambassador Yerkin Akhinzhanov, as reported by Kazpravda.kz.
As noted by dimashnews.com, in a friendly atmosphere, guests discussed the artistry of their beloved performer, the cultural traditions of Kazakhstan, and opportunities for collaboration between the countries.
From the very beginning, the atmosphere was amicable – fans were greeted not as guests but as like-minded individuals united by their love for Dimash Kudaibergen and respect for Kazakhstan.
As a gesture of cultural exchange, the fan club presented the ambassador with a photo collage featuring South African fans who have attended concerts around the globe.
Attendees included not only fans from various parts of South Africa but also admirers from New York.
During the conversation, the ambassador shared stories about Kazakhstan, its hospitality traditions, and rich musical heritage.
There were also amusing memories shared – fan club members recounted how they tried kumis during their trip to Astana. The ambassador remarked that this ancient drink has long been considered medicinal and is still used for therapeutic purposes.
One of the key topics of the meeting was the development of cultural cooperation.
The fan club proposed participation in the celebration of Nauryz in South Africa, promotion of Kazakh music in local schools, and involvement in joint ballet productions. The idea of collaboration between Joburg Ballet and Astana Ballet proved particularly promising, as South African artists expressed interest in staging performances set to the music of Dimash Kudaibergen.
However, the biggest dream of the fans remains a concert by Dimash in South Africa. This project was initiated by one of the club's most devoted members, Salome, who sadly passed away. In her honor, the fan club intends to resume negotiations with organizers to turn this dream into reality.
We remind you that on February 17, one of the most renowned publications, Rolling Stone published an article about the Kazakh musician: “Dimash Kudaibergen awarded the DIAFA 2024 for global influence in the field of music.”
