A sheep was made to ride a sled in Aktau; the animal's owner has since apologized (video).

The incident was reported by the publication Lada.kz.

In the footage that circulated on Instagram, a man placed a ram on a sled with him to slide down a hill together. The animal falls and tries to escape, but it is caught and placed back on the sled.

Additionally, the video captures a crowd of people sliding down the hill colliding with the fallen ram, causing the animal to endure pain without the ability to flee.

The video outraged users, who demanded that the man be punished for animal cruelty.

Later, the police in Aktau published a video on their Instagram page. In the footage, the author of the video apologized. He claimed that the animal was feeling well and had not sustained any injuries.

"We were sledding with the ram in the snow for promotional purposes. We intended to give it to someone at the location. The animal is in good condition, it has not suffered any injuries, and we had no intention of causing it harm. We apologize to the people of Mangistau and promise that this will not happen again," - stated the man.

It should be noted that under Article 407-1 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Republic of Kazakhstan, animal cruelty , if it does not constitute a criminal offense, carries a fine of five MRP (19,660 tenge) for individuals and ten MRP (39,320 tenge) for officials.

Recall that earlier in the Atyrau region, two young men were sentenced to restricted freedom for burning a dog alive.
