Former undisputed world champion in boxing in the light heavyweight division Artur Beterbiev announced that he will return to the ring stronger after his defeat in the rematch against Dmitry Bivol, as reported by Sports.kz citing "Match TV".
The fight between the two Russians was the main event of the boxing evening in Riyadh (Saudi Arabia). The bout lasted a full 12 rounds, and the judges rendered a decision in favor of Bivol: 114:114, 116:112, 115:113.
— It was a good fight against a worthy opponent. I thank everyone who supported me throughout my journey. But sports is sports. We will definitely come back even stronger, — Beterbiev wrote on his Telegram channel.
Beterbiev suffered his first defeat in the professional ring. His record now stands at 21 wins and one loss. Bivol boasts 24 wins and one loss. The losses were incurred by the Russians against each other.
