The UFC middleweight champion from South Africa, Dricus Du Plessis, shared his thoughts on a potential fight against the current UFC welterweight titleholder, the American-Palestinian Belal Muhammad, as reported by Sports.kz, referencing Championat.com.
“How will this fight go? I will step on his head, and it will all be over,” Dricus Du Plessis stated, as quoted by MMAFighting.
Recall that on the night of February 8-9, in Sydney (Australia), the UFC 312 mixed martial arts tournament took place, where Dricus Du Plessis defeated Strickland by unanimous decision. The fighters previously met in January 2024, where Dricus also won by split decision.
It was expected that in his next fight, Kazakhstani Shavkat Rakhmonov would face the reigning UFC welterweight champion Belal Muhammad; however, due to an injury, he will be unable to participate in the bout. Australian Jack Della Maddalena will take his place in the matchup against Belal, which will headline UFC 315 in Montreal on May 10.
