“Previously, these companies were included in the (sanctioned – ed. note) list of the USA and Canada. They were involved in supplying machinery within certain types of equipment. Currently, according to the State Revenue Committee, these companies do not engage in foreign economic activity and operate solely within Kazakhstan. They have not closed down but have altered their business activities,” said Shakkaliyev.
He noted that Kazakhstan does not receive any sanction lists from the European Union in advance. However, there are countries that notify Kazakhstan about the sanctions.
Earlier, “Kursiv” reported that on February 24, the European Union imposed sanctions against TОО Kazstanex, which sells machines from manufacturers around the world, and “MetallStan” (repair and technical maintenance of machines). They are accused of “supporting the Russian military-industrial complex.”
Additionally, “Kursiv” discussed the fate of 10 Kazakhstani companies suspected of transporting dual-use goods to Russia. All firms continue to operate within the country.
