Thanks to advertising, this elite school became one of the most well-known in Atyrau. The school was opened last autumn based on a popular children's development center. Many parents wanted to enroll their children here, and the fees did not deter anyone – they believed that if it was expensive, it must be worth it.
"We started attending in September. I paid 1 million in July, and I paid another 1 million in August. I enrolled two children. It cost 2 million! Then, in October and November, the operator girls began calling. They said if I paid for both students for the next year now, there would be a discount of 700 thousand. They had such honest eyes," shared one parent, Kairat Alenov.
At the beginning of the school year, a total of 247 students took their seats at the desks. The administration promised that the children would be taught by the 37 best teachers in the city. According to parents, lessons became irregular in December. However, the news that the educational institution was closing came as a shock.
"We sent our son to LETS School. We believed in this school. We paid for the year. There are parents who paid in advance. Some amounts were around one million eight hundred, for example. Now we know the school has closed. But who will return our money is unknown," shared another parent, Nazira Yersaiynkyzy.
After the children had studied for two terms, numerous violations were suddenly discovered in the school's operations. It turned out that teachers had not been paid on time, and pension contributions were not made. Moreover, the educational institution managed to operate without a license.
"In December, we filed a lawsuit in the economic court of Atyrau to terminate the activities of this school and to liquidate it. The court's decision was issued at the beginning of this year. The school has officially ceased its operations," reported Berdibek Taishiev, head of the department for quality assurance in education in the Atyrau region.
Whether parents will be able to recover the money spent on education at the closed school, and when they will succeed, remains unknown.
Police report that the head of the educational institution is suspected of fraud. A criminal case has been initiated. Meanwhile, students will be able to continue their education at other schools.

Recall that earlier in Aktau, parents of schoolchildren accused an educational center of defrauding them out of millions of tenge. They stated that they had paid for tuition, but the lessons were never held, and later the center closed without warning. The prosecutor's office promised to conduct an investigation.
Prior to this, we reported on a woman from Almaty who managed to recover part of her money for online English language courses – she had paid for a year of study but realized after a few classes that the program was not suitable for her. In the end, the woman was able to get back 840,000 tenge.
