The President of the International Boxing Association (IBA), Umar Kremlev, has announced his readiness to organize a third fight between Artur Beterbiev and Dmitry Bivol in Moscow, as reported by Sports.kz citing Sport-express.ru.
“Do we need a third fight? I think it’s very necessary. Yesterday was the event of the year. We need to repeat it in 'Luzhniki', what do you think? If you want it, no matter the cost, we will bring this rematch to Moscow and start negotiations,” Kremlev stated in a video on his Telegram channel.
Earlier, promoter Bob Arum mentioned that the third bout between Beterbiev and Bivol is planned to take place before the end of the year.
The second match between the boxers lasted all 12 rounds and concluded with Bivol winning by judges' decision (114-114, 116-112, 115-113). As a result, Bivol claimed the title of undisputed world champion in the light heavyweight division.
The first match between the Russian boxers occurred in October 2024, where Beterbiev won by judges' decision.
