"Kairat" will be without a player from the Kazakhstan national team for the match against "Astana."

The defender of Almaty's “Kairat” and the Kazakhstan national team, Yerkin Tapalov, will be unable to assist his team in the first round match of the KPL against “Astana”, as reported by Sports.kz referencing Meta-ratings.kz.

The reason is that the red card received by the player in the Super Cup of Kazakhstan 2025 match against “Aktobe” (2:0) will prevent him from participating in the opening game of the national championship.

It is noteworthy that previously, red cards in the country's Cup and Super Cup did not carry over to championship matches. However, the updated regulations state that expulsions affect matches across all tournaments.

As a reminder, Yerkin Tapalov was sent off in the Super Cup match of Kazakhstan after receiving two yellow cards.
