Yasumasa Iijima , appointed as the ambassador to Japan in the Republic of Kazakhstan on January 22, 2025, continues the efforts of his predecessor in supporting healthcare in Kazakhstan and Japanese companies operating in our country. This marks Mr. Iijima's second visit to Kazakhstan, and his diplomatic career includes service in other Central Asian countries, as well as in Russia and Ukraine.
According to Mr. Iijima, Japan proudly contributes to the activities of companies like Takeda and, in general, to the medical sector of Kazakhstan.
Mikhail Vladimirov , Director of Takeda Kazakhstan, noted that the company has been operating in the country for over 20 years and Takeda places special emphasis on the development and production of innovative medicines for the treatment of oncological, gastroenterological, and rare diseases. More than 60% of Takeda's assets are directed towards creating effective treatments for orphan diseases.
The parties expressed confidence that further cooperation between the Japanese embassy and Takeda Kazakhstan will contribute to the development of the healthcare system and the pharmaceutical industry in Kazakhstan, as well as support projects in the field of diagnosis and therapy for rare diseases.
