Musaev, who is wanted for treason and residing in Europe, recently claimed that during his time in the 6th department of the KGB of the USSR, Trump allegedly became an undercover agent. However, as Ashimbaev pointed out, the former general did not specify whether he himself was involved in this recruitment and ignored the fact that the 6th department dealt with economic security rather than foreign recruitment.
“Mr. Musaev did not clarify whether he recruited the current American president himself or if it was done by one of his colleagues at the time. Nonetheless, arguing about it is pointless. The former general could claim that this was a secret aspect of his work,” Ashimbaev noted ironically.
The political scientist reminded that this is not the first instance of Musaev making sensational claims. Previously, he accused former Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Akezhan Kazhegeldin of working for the KGB, to which Kazhegeldin responded with an equally fantastical story about his “secret business” and “party gold.” According to Ashimbaev, such episodes resemble a performance more than the truth.
The expert suggested that Musaev's new statement might be linked to his desire to remind people of his presence or even to some external influences.
“Apparently, Alnur Alzhaparovich decided to play an old game and remind the world of himself, or perhaps someone from his European curators asked him to,” he added, hinting at possible political motives.
Ashimbaev also warned that such attacks on Donald Trump could have repercussions, given his reputation as someone who does not forget grievances. As the story continues to generate new speculations, the political scientist ironically awaits whether any veterans of the KGB will emerge with tales of the recruitment of Joseph Biden.
