The Committee for the Protection of Children's Rights issued a statement regarding a video showing the beating of a schoolboy in Semey.

The Committee for the Protection of Children's Rights of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan has issued a statement regarding the circulation of a video showing the beating of a schoolboy in Semey, as reported by NUR.KZ.
Комитет по защите прав детей выступил с заявлением в связи с видеозаписью, на которой запечатлено избиение школьника в Семее.

As noted by the press service of the agency, in recent days, a video has been circulating in the media and social networks, showing teenagers in Semey committing violence against a minor.

"We urge the cessation of its further dissemination, as this only exacerbates the situation and causes additional moral harm to the child. It is particularly concerning that some bloggers are publishing photographs of the victim. Such actions only intensify the child's trauma," - stated the Committee for the Protection of Children's Rights.

Officials emphasized that they have been keeping the situation under strict control since the first days, and a regional child rights commissioner is working on-site. The rights of all minors are guaranteed and protected at the state level.

The agency reminded that it is prohibited by law to disseminate personal and biometric data of affected children, including their photographs and any information that could identify them.

"We call on the media and the public to refrain from publishing materials that could harm the psychological state of the child. Children's rights must be a priority, and information resources should contribute to protection, not exacerbate the situation," - emphasized the Committee for the Protection of Children's Rights.

Recall that recently, footage circulated online showing a group of teenagers brutally beating a peer. The police reported that a criminal case has been initiated regarding this incident, and all participants in the conflict have been promptly identified and brought to the police station along with their parents.

The Children's Ombudsman, Dinara Zakiyeva, later reported that she discussed the incident with the Akim of the Abai region, Berik Uali. She also revealed some details of the incident.

Later, the regional head held a meeting regarding this incident. He ordered a detailed internal investigation to be conducted and disciplinary measures to be taken against those responsible, as well as to strengthen preventive measures to avoid similar situations.

The Department of Education of the Abai region reported on the measures taken regarding the school administration in connection with the beating of the child - the school principal was dismissed.

Concerned citizens from Kazakhstan provided financial assistance to the boy from Semey, who was bullied by his peers. People raised 24 million tenge for the child's family.
