As of January 1, 2025, there are 465 non-governmental organizations operating in the region, with 383 of them actively implementing their projects. Special attention should be given to the 75 NGOs working in the area's districts, which make invaluable contributions to the development of local communities. The activities of non-governmental organizations in the region significantly strengthen civil society and create conditions for a fair, open, and prosperous future.
The organizations primarily focus on youth and children's initiatives, education, sports, and social protection. These areas are crucial for fostering a healthy and dynamic civil society. The projects being implemented today are already contributing to the strengthening of civil society institutions, preventing youth offenses, reducing drug addiction levels, and assisting at-risk youth. Additionally, these initiatives promote national sports and enhance the role of women in public and political life.
The meeting was held in an open dialogue format. NGOs that distinguished themselves through their contributions to regional development received letters of appreciation from the Akim of the North Kazakhstan region and the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Among the awardees is Anuar Tokpanov, the chairman of the public organization "Rukh Til Zhanǵyru."
"Our public organization was established in 2018. We primarily work with youth, focusing on language development and patriotic education. We promote art and national values. We implement projects in collaboration with the Assembly of People of Kazakhstan and also run programs for migrants. We work with young families. I am very pleased that our efforts are being recognized. We will continue to work in this direction together with state bodies and other organizations," said Anuar Tokpanov.
The Council for Cooperation and Interaction with Non-Governmental Organizations holds meetings on a quarterly basis. The advisory body includes not only representatives of NGOs but also leaders of government structures. In 2024, the council addressed 12 important issues aimed at developing and improving collaboration.
The main partner of government bodies in the NGO sector is the Civil Alliance of North Kazakhstan. It consists of 25 leading organizations. Its work effectively coordinates efforts, creates favorable conditions for the development of the non-governmental sector, and addresses socially significant issues in the region.
In 2025, a number of important events will take place in the region. For example, the XII Civil Forum, a regional NGO gathering, "Zhasyl El," a youth forum, and much more. The main goal is to create conditions for the active involvement of citizens in addressing pressing issues. Such long-term and comprehensive programs yield deep and sustainable results.
