Mark Ramsey, the coach of former undisputed world light heavyweight champion Artur Beterbiev, believes that Dmitry Bivol was overly cautious in the rematch against his fighter, as reported by Sports.kz citing Fightnews.info.
“Bivol spent most of the time on the run. He didn’t want to engage with Artur. He kept moving, waiting for the right moment to throw counter punches. He did this effectively, showing good energy. He fought well.
To me, he was running away. We clearly saw the lion and the rabbit in this fight. But being a lion and a rabbit is not everything. What Bivol did well was make Artur miss his targets. When Artur finished his attacks, Bivol responded with very effective counter punches. That’s something he executed very well. He defended himself effectively, waiting for the right moments to counter,” Ramsey said in an interview with the YouTube channel “Ushataika.”
Let us recall that on February 22, Bivol defeated Beterbiev in the rematch by a majority decision (114-114, 116-112, 115-113).
