The Astana administration is experimenting with new methods to combat vandalism. They plan to display photographs of offenders on the 65-meter Ferris wheel in the capital. Those identified face fines and potential arrest.

The main Ferris wheel in Astana will broadcast images of individuals breaking glass at bus stops, damaging elevators, litter bins, and committing other acts of vandalism.

“This method is aimed at raising public awareness about the issue of damage to municipal property. The city continues its intensified efforts to combat acts of vandalism and the destruction of others' property,” emphasized the city administration.

Since the beginning of 2025, a total of 25 people have been held accountable for vandalism. Among them, 11 were fined, while 14 received administrative detention. Last year, 350 individuals were punished for vandalism in the capital.

Meanwhile, in Almaty, the police conducted raids and fined residents who were disposing of waste in unauthorized locations. Currently, construction debris, old furniture, and appliances are accumulating on the streets of the megacity.
