According to the official Telegram channel of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Kazakhstan, approximately 100 individuals have been rescued in the Kostanay region.
Last night, in the Amangeldy district, 22 km from the village of Amantogai, the Ministry of Emergency Situations successfully rescued 98 people from a closed section of the "Auliekol - Zhaldama" highway, including 18 children. Among those rescued, 7 individuals, including 6 children, were taken to a warming point in the village of Amantogai. Additionally, 8 cars were towed from the snowdrift to a cleared section of the road.
In the Sarykol district, 5 km from the village of Sonaly on the "Sarykol - Komsomolskoye" highway, 1 car was towed from a snowdrift to a cleared section of the road, with 2 people inside.
No one required medical assistance.
It is worth noting that earlier in early February, despite warnings about adverse weather conditions, some residents of the southern regions of the republic found themselves trapped in snow on the roads. At that time, rescuers saved about 200 people.
The Ministry of Emergency Situations reminded about the necessity of adhering to safety rules during unfavorable weather conditions:
Rescuers on the website of the Emergency Situations Department of one of the regions of the country recommend that during bad weather, individuals should remain particularly vigilant, stay updated on weather conditions, and monitor the outdoor temperature. Blizzards and snowdrifts pose a significant danger in winter, especially for those caught on the road. In this regard, drivers and passengers received the following advice:
"Exhaust gases emitted by the engine and gradually accumulating in the car's cabin will kill you much sooner than the harshest frost," warn the rescuers.
