A missing minor, who disappeared six months ago, was found in a rented apartment near Almaty.

Earlier, volunteers from Lider.kz reported the disappearance of a young man and woman in Almaty, but nearly six months later, they were found alive. The police have provided further details, as reported by NUR.KZ.

A post about a missing minor girl and boy who disappeared in September 2024 has been shared by volunteers from Lider.kz on Instagram.

According to a spokesperson from the Almaty Region Police Department, law enforcement has located the missing 17-year-old girl.

"She left home with an acquaintance and was in hiding. As a result of operational-search activities, police officers from the Enbekshikazakh district found her in a rented apartment in Tuzdybastau."

"She is currently safe and has been returned to her parents. It is important to note that the girl left home on her own and actively avoided meetings with relatives and law enforcement," the agency's comment states.

The "Electronic Government" website indicates that when a person goes missing, the first step is to report it to the police by calling "102" or visiting the nearest station. The information that needs to be provided to the police includes:

The police are required to promptly accept and register the report regardless of the duration of the absence or the presumed location of the missing person. There are no time restrictions for filing such a report.

It is a misconception that one can only report after 3 days have passed since the person went missing.

At the same time, one should begin conducting their own mini-investigation: call friends, colleagues, visit places the person frequented, travel the route that the missing individual took daily, and so on.

Earlier in the year, volunteers reported that on January 19, the girl left her home in the village of Merey in the Karasai district and went missing. The police stated that they registered a report about her disappearance and that law enforcement conducted necessary activities aimed at establishing the whereabouts of the missing person.

Later, the missing girl from the Almaty region was found with relatives.

Previously, police were also able to determine the location of a missing 17-year-old girl from Taldykorgan - the teenager was found in Almaty.
