The company "Samruk-Energo," a subsidiary of "Samruk-Kazyna," has announced its exit from the list of participants in the LLP "Ust-Kamenogorsk Hydroelectric Power Plant." Previously, "Samruk-Energo" held a 100% ownership stake in the hydroelectric power plant.
«Самрук-Энерго» вышло из числа участников Усть-Каменогорской ГЭС.

According to a published statement, the exit of "Samruk-Energo" from the list of participants of the Ust-Kamenogorsk Hydro Power Plant occurred on February 20. The only owner of "Ust-Kamenogorsk HPP" is indicated by eGov as Qazaq Green Power PLC, which is 100% owned by "Samruk-Energo".

The Ust-Kamenogorsk HPP is the second station in the Irtysh cascade of hydroelectric power plants and serves as a counter-regulator for the Bukhtarma HPP. The installed capacity of the Ust-Kamenogorsk HPP is 367.8 MW, while the available capacity is 335 MW.

Construction of the Ust-Kamenogorsk HPP began on the Irtysh River in 1939 based on the project by DneproGES. The first turbine of the station was commissioned in 1952, and the fourth in 1959. In 1997, the hydroelectric plant was transferred to a concession by the American company AES. Later, the government regained control over the station; however, "HPP" remained in its name. In 2017, the Ministry of Finance transferred the station to the Ministry of Energy, and in 2023, the HPP was handed over to "Samruk-Kazyna", and in 2024 – to "Samruk-Energo".

After the deal was completed, "Samruk-Energo" owns shares in 16 companies, including 89.99% of the shares of JSC "Ust-Kamenogorsk HPP".
