A woman from Taldykorgan ended up in prison when her daughter was just 2 months old.

According to the information media portal of the department, a 31-year-old resident of Taldykorgan has been convicted of fraud. The court sentenced her to five years in prison.

The convicted woman has an eight-month-old daughter. When she was incarcerated, the child was only two months old. The woman's biological sister took custody of the baby.

Today marked a long-awaited reunion between the mother and her little one, the first in a long time.

"I deeply regret that I cannot witness my child's first steps or hear her first words. Upon seeing my little one, I promised myself and her that after my release, we will never be apart again, and I will become the kind of mother she can be proud of," the convict shared.

During the Open Doors Day, the inmates expressed their gratitude to their loved ones for the love and support they receive here, and prepared pilaf and sweets for their family members.

Previously, a social video brought tears to a father's eyes, who had not seen his children for three years. The convict is serving his sentence in a colony in the Abai region for intentionally causing serious harm to another person's health. It turned out that the man did not want to show his children the prison and did not allow his wife to bring them.

In the East Kazakhstan region, a touching video was captured by the continuous surveillance cameras of the colony. An 82-year-old convict received a short visit from his grandson, who came to receive a bata (blessing) from his relative.
