A digital system for tracking copyright royalties will be implemented in Kazakhstan.

Authors and other rights holders will soon have the opportunity to track all stages of their works' usage online, as reported by Kazpravda.kz.
В Казахстане будет внедрена цифровая система для отслеживания авторских вознаграждений.

According to Justice Minister Erlan Sarsembayev, the events of last autumn, when Kazakhstani music disappeared from Meta platforms, revealed shortcomings in the collective management sector.

“Many well-known authors and performers reported not receiving compensation for the use of their works on this platform. Therefore, there is a need for the digitalization of this area. Authors and other rights holders are expected to be able to track all stages of the use of their works online: from contract signing, collection, distribution, to the payment of royalties,”stated the head of the agency.

Additionally, the implementation of a digital platform incorporating elements of artificial intelligence is being explored, particularly in terms of analytics and reporting (on objects included in state registers), improving search systems for registered intellectual property objects, developing a mobile application for authors and rights holders, and enhancing integration with the information systems of government agencies and international organizations.
