A resident of Kokshetau received flowers for helping a girl who was offered a candy.

Police honored a resident of Kokshetau for her active civic engagement and assistance to a girl who was offered treats by a stranger on the street, as reported by NUR.KZ, citing the Akmolinskaya region police department.

According to the press service of the department, the frightened schoolgirl remained composed and acted correctly: she immediately approached a nearby couple and informed them about the incident.

Julia Sitkevich, a resident of Kokshetau, accompanied the little girl home and then promptly reported the incident to the police. The concerned citizen provided the officers with video footage and detailed the circumstances she witnessed.

The leadership of the police department highly appreciated Julia Sitkevich's assistance and active civic stance.

On February 23, under the direction of the first leader, Colonel Nursultan Mukashev, Chief of Police of Kokshetau Nurlyzhan Aktanov presented Julia with a letter of gratitude, flowers, and expressed appreciation for her compassion and help.

Recall that last week a video surfaced online from Kokshetau, where an unknown individual approached a girl and spoke with her. The footage alarmed viewers, who feared that the child was being targeted for abduction in broad daylight.

The police identified the young man in the video as a 14-year-old teenager. According to him, he had no criminal intent and merely offered the girl a candy as a joke.
