At a meeting with members of the Assembly of People of Kazakhstan (ANK) and representatives of ethnic and cultural associations in the region, the akim of East Kazakhstan region, Nurymbet Sakhtaganov, read a congratulatory address on behalf of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.
"Over the past 30 years, the Assembly of People of Kazakhstan has become an integral part of society, a true center of unity, mutual understanding, and respect among all ethnic groups. During these years, a reliable polyethnic culture of peace and harmony has developed in East Kazakhstan. Your contribution to the development of intercultural dialogue and the maintenance of peace and harmony cannot be overstated. Your work unites people, creates an atmosphere of harmony and cooperation, and strengthens interethnic ties. And today, on this wonderful holiday, the Day of Gratitude, I express my sincere appreciation for your honest work and patriotism!" — said the head of the region.
The akim of the region presented letters of appreciation to members of the ANK and activists who contributed to strengthening interethnic unity. The meeting addressed issues of further enhancing ethnic and cultural interaction.
Members of the Assembly in the region actively conduct various cultural, educational, and social projects. Recently, the youth of the ANK organized a national winter camp that brought together representatives from all regions of the country. Student Assemblies have been established, where young people actively participate in charity events. The ANK operates a youth and children's theater in the region.
This year, the theater is scheduled to tour the Abai and Pavlodar regions, as well as Astana. Significant attention is given to the development of the Kazakh language and culture, with a unique project called "Guest Family" playing a special role. This project provides children with opportunities to learn about the culture and language, and it also strengthens connections between different ethnic groups.
Alongside the traditionally operating language schools at the Houses of Friendship, an additional 25 conversation clubs for the Kazakh language, "Kel, söyleseyik," were opened last year. There are 74 Centers for State Language Education for various age groups functioning in the districts. This year, their number is planned to reach 100.
At the initiative of the ANK members, the "Dostyk" Arbat will soon open in Ust-Kamenogorsk on the street adjacent to the House of Friendship. In honor of the 30th anniversary of the Assembly of People of Kazakhstan, funds have been allocated from the regional budget for the opening of a modern "Community Hall" in the regional House of Friendship.
