"In order to foster an anti-corruption culture and zero tolerance towards corrupt practices, as well as to enhance civic engagement, the Anti-Corruption Service is implementing a new tool for promptly reporting instances of corruption. We are pleased to announce the launch of the new AntiCor 1424 WhatsApp chatbot.
Now every citizen can report instances of corruption or seek advice on counteracting corruption via the WhatsApp messenger. To do this, simply send a message to the number 8 777 000 1424", - instructed the AntiCor team.
It is noted that through the AntiCor chatbot, one can not only report instances of corruption but also obtain advice on issues related to anti-corruption efforts.
"For providing reliable information about corrupt offenses, a reward of up to 15.7 million tenge is offered. We guarantee complete confidentiality of the inquiry. All messages will be thoroughly reviewed, and if violations are identified, actions will be taken in accordance with current legislation," - added the agency.
However, it was also reminded that knowingly false reports of corruption entail criminal liability.
Previously, we reported that the fight against bribery can be supported not only by the AntiCor. Citizens of Kazakhstan may receive up to 4,000 MRP for reporting instances of corruption.
Last summer, we mentioned that the Mazhilis deputies are considering two draft laws aimed at tightening anti-corruption legislation, specifically the introduction of a public registry of corrupt individuals and the criminalization of bribery promises/offers.
It is also worth noting that Kazakhstan had previously ranked among the top ten countries most affected by corruption, with neighboring Russia taking the first place. This ranking was compiled by specialists from an American news magazine. The publication was commented on by the AntiCor.
Last autumn, the AntiCor revealed the amount paid to Kazakhstanis for reporting instances of corruption.
