“The Jibek Joly train features five modern carriages produced in Kazakhstan, which have not been used on other routes before. The crew includes a train manager, eight experienced conductors, and an electromechanic, ensuring a high level of service,” the Ministry of Tourism stated.
The photo shows that the bedding provided by the conductors is not ordinary but in golden tones with beautiful Kazakh ornamentation. Meanwhile, the restaurant offers dishes from both national and European cuisines.
0The trial tourist route from Almaty was launched on November 16. At that time, the ministry reported that over 100 Kazakhs embarked on the journey. Today, the passengers have returned to Almaty.
During their time on the road, Kazakhs were able to visit various attractions in Kazakhstan, such as the Arystan Bab Mausoleum, the archaeological excavations of the ancient city of Otyrar, the “Azirat Sultan” complex with the mausoleum of Khoja Ahmed Yasawi, and the modern tourist complex “Karavan Sarai.”
1“In Uzbekistan, tourists visited the Hazrat Imam complex, the Tole Bi mausoleum, the squares of Amir Timur and Independence, as well as other historical sites in Tashkent,” the report stated.
How to catch the next Jibek Joly train
Although the dates for the next tour are still unknown, those interested in traveling can already reserve their spots. The Ministry of Tourism clarified that tickets for the train can be purchased through the travel agency KHAN TURAN TRAVEL.
2According to the agency "Kursiv," the price of the tour package for an adult is 135,000 tenge, while for a child, it is 100,000 tenge.
“The price includes train fare, transportation during the program – buses with 50 seats; services of a tour guide; entrance tickets to mausoleums and museums, two bottles of 0.5 liters of water per day, as well as meals: breakfast, lunch, and dinner in cafes,” said KHAN TURAN TRAVEL.
The agency explained that currently, Kazakhs can only register in advance. Payment will be made only after the itinerary is confirmed.
However, next time, according to a representative of the travel agency, the route may change slightly, which could increase the cost of the tour.
“This train was a trial run; the next one will last longer and include more excursions, with Bukhara added to the itinerary. However, when it will take place is still unknown. The dates have not been determined yet. The cost of the first tour along the route Almaty – Turkestan – Tashkent – Almaty was 135,000 tenge,” they explained.
Previously, “Kursiv” reported that a tourist passenger train would be launched from the Chinese city of Xi’an to Almaty. This was agreed upon by the KTZ management with the government of Xi’an. The train will stay in Almaty for several days.
