A Kazakh businessman sought by the Anti-Corruption Agency has been apprehended in Bishkek.

A Kazakhstani businessman has been detained in Bishkek. The press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Kyrgyzstan announced that the entrepreneur was wanted through Interpol. He has not been extradited to Kazakhstan.

The forty-year-old A.D. is the owner of a logistics company. He is suspected of bribing customs officials. The Anti-Corruption Agency of Kazakhstan has put him on the wanted list.

The investigation believes that from December 2022 to November 2023, the businessman attempted to arrange shipments of goods abroad.

“To circumvent customs procedures, he conspired with customs employees. During this period, the suspect handed over 16,500 USD as a bribe,” the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the KR stated.

After his arrest, he was taken to the Investigation Department of the Internal Affairs of the October District. The press service of the Anti-Corruption Agency of Kazakhstan did not comment on the situation.
