“The airline failed to provide assistance for a minor passenger with disabilities. After a prolonged wait, the child's father had to carry the child out of the airplane himself,” reported the main transport prosecutor's office of Kazakhstan.
“Kursiv” found out that this concerns the Kazakh airline SCAT. Company representatives gave incorrect information regarding the need for a wheelchair for the child.
“The aviation transport prosecutor's office of Astana responded to the violation of the rights of a passenger with special needs. As a result of the prosecutor's findings, the airline was held administratively liable for violating transportation rules,” the prosecutor's office summarized.
Previously, the airline Air Astana could not achieve in court a reduction of the moral compensation for 12-year-old Kazakh girl Zere Galiyeva from 5 million to 1.5 million tenge. The girl was not allowed to board a flight with the low-cost carrier Fly Arystan and was left alone at Astana airport last summer. Zere's mother will receive a moral compensation of five million tenge, as decided by the first court.
