Rescuers evacuated 33 foreigners following a traffic accident on a highway in western Kazakhstan.

A passenger bus was involved in an accident on the "Samara-Shymkent" highway in the Aktobe region. Rescuers evacuated 33 citizens of Uzbekistan, according to Kazakhstan's Ministry of Emergency Situations.

It is clarified that the traffic accident occurred on the night of March 2, 40 kilometers from the village of Irgyz. The bus was traveling from the Russian city of Ufa to the Uzbek city of Samarkand. It was transporting workers on a rotational shift.

No evacuated foreign nationals were harmed. Rescuers provided them with a replacement bus, which was located in a safe area of the road. The Ministry of Emergency Situations warns about the dangers of driving on highways in adverse weather conditions.

“KazAvtoZhol” reported restrictions on the movement of freight and public transport in the Aktobe region starting from 9:30 AM on March 2 on the road section “Aktobe – Kandyagash – Dossor – Atyrau — Russia border.” Similar measures were implemented in the Kyzylorda region on the route “Russia border — Martuk — Aktobe — Karabutak — Kyzylorda — Shymkent — Taraz — Korday — Almaty — Khorgos — China border.”

Previously, Kursiv reported on an accident where a train collided with a truck. According to KTZ, the accident occurred due to the truck driver's violation of the rules for crossing the railway crossing. Members of the locomotive crew were injured. Currently, railway services have already been restored.
