Residents of Almaty have been left without heating and hot water. Heating has been temporarily suspended in 70 apartment buildings, seven private houses, five kindergartens, four schools, and one hospital.
Additionally, Almaty residents living in the area bounded by the streets of Gagarin, Zharokov, Khojanov, Syrgabeckov, Isinaliev, and Novaya have also lost access to hot water.
Heating is promised to be restored by 6:00 PM on Wednesday. The outage occurred due to corrosion, according to utility workers.
On January 15, "Kursiv" reported that an accident occurred at the CHP in Petropavlovsk, which is linked to businessmen Aleksandr Klebanov and Sergey Kan.
At the end of last year, several cities in Kazakhstan experienced heating outages due to utility accidents at CHPs. This includes Ekibastuz, Ridder, Temirtau, and Balkhash. President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev instructed to restore heating in these cities as soon as possible. The authorities of the cities where the accidents occurred have reported on the resolution of the heating issues.
