Train services have resumed in the Atyrau region following an accident at the station.

Railway services have resumed in the Atyrau region following an accident at the Tendik station, where a truck collided with a train. This information was reported by Kazakhstan Temir Zholy (KTZ).

“Restoration work has been completed. As of 22:14, passenger train movement has been reopened,” — the company's statement reads.

It is specified that the locomotive and cars have been lifted from the tracks. Earthworks have been conducted over a stretch of 200 meters, and new railway tracks have been laid.

A total of 167 railway employees, two recovery trains, and six special vehicles participated in the aftermath of the incident. Transportation to Atyrau has been organized for passengers of the delayed trains in collaboration with the Atyrau region akimat, along with the provision of hot meals.

The accident occurred on the morning of March 1. A locomotive and 11 empty carriages derailed. Members of the locomotive crew were injured. KTZh stated that the cause of the incident was the truck driver's violation of the railway crossing regulations.

In October of last year, a locomotive and a diesel locomotive collided near the Sarysu junction. As a result of the incident, several carriages derailed, and members of the locomotive crew sustained moderate injuries.
