The parties reviewed the outcomes of their collaboration in 2024, highlighting significant achievements in addressing water issues and combating climate change. Special emphasis was placed on Kazakhstan's initiative to establish a UN Regional Center for Sustainable Development for Central Asia and Afghanistan in Almaty, which received backing from all countries in the region and the UN Secretary-General.
A representative from UNESCO underscored the importance of further expanding partnership relations and noted the visit of UNESCO Director-General Audrey Azoulay in 2023 as a crucial step in developing bilateral cooperation.
Particular attention was given to the UNESCO Global Youth Forum, set to take place on February 19-20, 2025, in Almaty, which will serve as a platform for exchanging views and developing solutions in the fields of education, science, and culture among the youth of the region.
