Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan are strengthening their interparliamentary cooperation.

The fourth meeting of the Commission for Cooperation between the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan took place in Shymkent. The Kazakh delegation was led by Deputy Chairman of the Senate, Zhakip Asanov, as reported by DKnews.kz.

The event was attended by parliamentarians, representatives from relevant ministries, regional authorities, and diplomatic structures from both countries.

During the meeting, key areas of inter-parliamentary cooperation were discussed, aimed at promoting the development of mutual trade, economic interaction, cultural and humanitarian partnerships, and the implementation of joint projects in Central Asia. In his speech, Zhakip Asanov emphasized the importance of further strengthening cooperation between the two countries, noting that the inter-parliamentary commission plays a significant role in implementing joint initiatives that contribute to the sustainable development of the region.

Concluding the meeting, the parties agreed to develop a Roadmap for 2025-2026, which will serve as the foundation for further coordination of joint efforts.
