The head of state was briefed on the outcomes of the judiciary's activities for the year 2024. As Aslambek Mergaliyev reported, the priorities of the courts include protecting the rights, freedoms, and legitimate interests of citizens and entrepreneurs, as well as ensuring the rule of law.
The President was informed that the number of cases and materials reviewed is increasing, achieving the highest quality indicator for the administration of justice in the last 5 years (98.9% of local court rulings were deemed lawful and justified).
The share of conciliatory procedures in civil and administrative cases is also on the rise. Due to the expansion of jurisdiction, the number of cases heard with the participation of jurors has doubled (from 147 to 261).
The Chairman of the Supreme Court discussed the implementation of artificial intelligence technologies, which aid in forming uniform judicial practices and significantly ease the workload for judges (with automation, one-third of cases and materials were processed - 665,000 out of 2 million).
Aslambek Mergaliyev also reported on the establishment of cassation courts and legislative initiatives aimed at enhancing judicial independence and broadening the scope of administrative justice.
The head of state emphasized the importance of upholding the rule of law and increasing public trust in the judiciary.
