The UN highlighted the key political and social reforms taking place in Kazakhstan.

A side event took place at the UN building in Geneva featuring members of the Mazhilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Commissioner for Children's Rights in Kazakhstan, and representatives from civil society. The topic of discussion was "Kazakhstan's Democratic Transformations: Political and Social Rights," according to DKnews.kz.

The event was organized as part of the protection of the fourth National Report of the Republic of Kazakhstan within the framework of the Universal Periodic Review on human rights, aimed at presenting Kazakhstan's achievements in democratic transformations to the international community, as well as social and political reforms aimed at protecting human rights and developing an inclusive society.

The moderator of the event was the Chairperson of the Council for Inclusion under the Senate of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Lyazzat Moldabekovna Kaltaeva, who opened the meeting with a welcoming speech and outlined the key agenda items.

The speakers at this event included deputies of the Mazhilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Najmetdinuly B., Seitjan K.S., and Kuchinskaya Y.V., who addressed topics such as:

The Commissioner for Children's Rights in the Republic of Kazakhstan, Zakiyeva D.B., shared achievements in the field of child protection, such as strengthening the ombudsman's mandate, measures against bullying, suicides, and sexual violence.

The Executive Director of the NGO "National Alliance of Professional Social Workers," Yesimova D.G., spoke about the role of civil society in strengthening social policy and protecting the rights of vulnerable groups.

The side event attracted a wide range of participants, including representatives from international organizations, the diplomatic corps, human rights NGOs, and the expert community, which facilitated an open dialogue on the development of human rights in Kazakhstan.
