Former champion of the UFC in two weight classes and now a Hall of Fame member, American Daniel Cormier, believes that Russian fighter Arman Tsarukyan should retain his contender status for the title, despite withdrawing from UFC 311, as reported by Sports.kz referencing Championat.com.
Tsarukyan pulled out less than a day before the fight due to a back injury.
“I believe the next contender should be Tsarukyan. I have faith in Arman. Even though this would be a rematch, and yes, Charles Oliveira is known to be next, I still think Tsarukyan's size and skills could pose serious challenges for Islam Makhachev,” Cormier stated on his YouTube channel.
