Дуров заверил французских следователей в улучшении модерации Telegram.

The founder of Telegram, Pavel Durov, promised French investigators to enhance the regular monitoring of user compliance with the social network's rules, reported France Info on Friday, citing its own sources.

According to their information, during interrogations in December, Durov assured that he would "improve moderation procedures." He also stated that the social network deletes "from 15 to 20 million accounts worldwide each month for violating legislation." As per the station's data, Durov further noted that the issue of combating illegal content affects not only Telegram but also other similar services.

Judicial investigators, in turn, emphasized that, according to their findings, despite Durov's efforts, the use of Telegram for illegal purposes has even intensified in recent months.

In late August, the founder of Telegram was charged in France with failing to prevent the dissemination of illegal content through the messenger.

Later, Durov was released from custody on a €5 million bail under strict judicial supervision and the obligation to report to the police station twice a week. He is prohibited from leaving French territory.
