During a working visit to the UAE, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev participated in a meeting with experts on artificial intelligence (AI) development, reports Kazpravda.kz citing Akorda.
Addressing the participants of the event, the head of state emphasized that AI is one of the key driving forces of modern progress and has the potential to fundamentally transform the economy.
– Kazakhstan is taking significant steps to establish a solid foundation for advancing AI. The focus is on developing institutional frameworks, infrastructure, and human capital. Within the institutional structure, we are creating an International Advisory Council on Artificial Intelligence, which will operate under my leadership. This council will serve as a strategic platform for dialogue and the exchange of ideas with global experts, bringing together engineers, researchers, and entrepreneurs to formulate recommendations on national AI policy and strengthen international cooperation, – said the president.
As Kassym-Jomart Tokayev highlighted, a key priority for Kazakhstan in the field of AI is the training and support of highly qualified specialists. According to him, the success of AI implementation directly depends on the qualifications and experience of those who develop and utilize these technologies.
The head of state also announced the establishment of the AlemAI center for advanced technologies in Kazakhstan, which will integrate the best global practices and promote the implementation of innovative solutions. He noted that the center will serve as a hub for initiatives related to AI, including educational programs for schools, universities, and vocational training centers, research centers, offices for startups and companies, as well as platforms for sharing experiences and best practices.
– In the field of education, we have introduced the innovative Al-Sana program aimed at fostering human capital development in AI. The program ensures interdisciplinary training for specialists from various sectors and promotes the development of advanced solutions in the field of AI, – the president added.
In conclusion, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev emphasized that Kazakhstan aims to become an active participant in the global artificial intelligence ecosystem and called on the event participants to collaborate in various areas, from scientific research to the establishment of ethical standards.
