The first-ever liver transplant operation was successfully performed in Kyzylorda.

The operation was a success: both the patient and the donor are doing well, reports Kazpravda.kz.
В Кызылорде впервые успешно провели операцию по пересадке печени.

For the first time, a liver transplant was successfully performed on a 40-year-old man from a related donor at the Kyzylorda Multidisciplinary Regional Hospital.

The patient had suffered from liver cirrhosis for nine years, and his condition had significantly deteriorated.

The ten-hour surgery marked an important milestone in the development of transplantation in the region.

The surgical procedure was carried out by a team of transplant surgeons led by Bolatbek Bimendievich Baymakhanov, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor, and a top-category physician, who is the Chairman of the Board of the National Scientific Center for Surgery named after A.N. Syzganov.

Highly qualified specialists from the regional hospital also participated in the operation, exchanging valuable experience during the process.

The surgery was successful, and both the patient and the donor are feeling well. Currently, both are in stable condition. There are 16 residents in the Kyzylorda region living with donor livers, and all patients who have undergone the procedure are under careful medical supervision.

These interventions represent a significant step towards restoring the health of patients with chronic and complicated liver diseases, as well as providing them with comprehensive medical and social rehabilitation.

The Ministry of Health will continue its efforts to improve citizens' access to high-quality medical services in the regions of the country and to support the development of transplantation.
