By March of this year, all traffic in Karaganda will transition to the "Smart Traffic Light" system, reports Kazpravda.kz referencing the Telegram channel Patriot

The head of the Karaganda police department, Shakhnazar Salin, stated that the region has registered over 200,000 vehicles, and their numbers are increasing each year.

The new system is expected to enhance traffic flow and reduce congestion, allowing drivers to spend less time waiting for a green light.

The Akim of Karaganda, Meyram Kozhukhov, explained that artificial intelligence will help alleviate road congestion during peak hours.

“Currently, artificial intelligence has been implemented. The final equipment for the remaining traffic lights is arriving, and adjustments are being made. We already have configurations for the seventh highway and Tattimbet Street, and we are setting up Bukhar-Zhyrau Avenue,” he reported.
