The China Railway Corporation (CRC) has initiated test runs ahead of the commercial launch of the CR450 high-speed train, which is capable of reaching speeds of up to 450 km/h, reports a correspondent from Kazpravda.kz, citing TASS.

The operational speed of the CR450 is expected to be 400 km/h, which is faster than the CR400 currently in operation, reaching speeds of up to 350 km/h. According to the publication, engineers are optimizing the train's technical specifications during the tests to expedite its commercial operation.

The CR450 prototype was unveiled in December 2024. This new model is anticipated to significantly enhance transportation speeds across the country in the near future. Additionally, its technical features, such as a shorter braking distance, stability, and an advanced control system, are claimed to provide greater safety compared to existing counterparts. It will also be more comfortable and energy-efficient.

In early January 2025, it was reported that China continues to build the "Great Solar Wall." This construction is part of a long-term plan by the PRC to erect a "Great Solar Wall," aimed at generating sufficient energy to power Beijing.

Previously, China drilled the deepest well in Asia, reaching a depth of 10,910 meters.
